The Womack Family Band
The Womack Family Band
The Womack’s are a unique Americana Folk/Rock quartet from north-central Ohio. Although only two members of the group actually share blood, they consider themselves a close-knit family. They are brother and sister, Noah and Haley Heyman, with longtime friends Cory Webb and Tony Schaffer. All of the Womack’s live together in the same rural home and this closeness, aside from 150+ performances a year, has turned their recordings and performances into a tightly woven musical experience.

Since their debut in 2010 The Womack’s have captivated audiences all over the eastern U.S. with their spot on three part vocal harmony, tight musicianship, and neo-classic songwriting. Fan remarks often include phrases like “…I left (the show) feeling inspired…” and “…a breath of fresh air”. Reviewers are saying that “…The Womack Family Band has revived the spirit of vintage rock music and introduced it to the grandchildren of folk and jazz” and “The group’s live performances have the potential to become the stuff of legend”. If one were to look among the audience at a Womack show they’ll see 14 year olds toe-tapping and dancing amidst 30 and 60 year olds, proving that no matter what era of music you grew up with The Womack’s have a song for you.

While it’s true that listeners will hear variance in the “Womack sound”, reviewers are saying that the music is still “…distinctly Americana…” and “…a deft mix of American roots, Folk, and Rock music.” In concert the WFB gives the audience a chance to hear beautiful three part vocal harmony and sincere lyrical insights on life as well as high-energy musical passages reminiscent of the days of tie-dye and vinyl. A live show review said “One never knows quite what to expect, and that makes every musical turn as fresh and thrilling as the next”.

The Womack’s will be touring all over the eastern U.S. and are set to release their 4th studio album in 2014.
Nate Jones Band
Nate Jones Band
San Francisco, CA - The Nate Jones Band EP is the debut release from Nate Jones, a young singer/songwriter who carves his folky, soulful sound from the same bedrock as Paul Simon, James Taylor, and Stephen Stills.
Jones is a troubadour in the old-school tradition. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, he launched his music career while attending college in New Orleans. The town left its swampy mark on Jones, who became a regular performer at venues like Tipitina’s and Howlin’ Wolf Club, where he spiked his coffeehouse folk songs with soulful vocal melodies and intricate, funky fretwork on the acoustic guitar. After growing his following with club dates across the country, he returned to Cleveland and teamed up with pop producer Dave Douglas (former drummer and founding member of the Grammy-nominated pop-punk band Relient K). Together, they recorded The Nate Jones Band EP, a five-song collection of songs that brim with Hammond organ, bluesy guitar solos, and the breezy charm of Jones’ voice.

The EP also introduces Jones’ band, a group of likeminded musicians who, in Jones’ words, “allow me to balance my love of the softer singer/songwriter music with heavier, guitar-driven rock music, blending everything into what I think is a unique and very original sound.”

An original sound, indeed. The Nate Jones Band EP is an old-school record for modern audiences, balanced somewhere between the glory days of the Laurel Canyon sound and the recent resurgence of neo-soul music.

To soak up inspiration from the same state that nurtured some of his biggest influences, Jones recently relocated to San Francisco. Still, he’s a traveler at heart -- just listen to the EP’s lead single, “Another Night, Another Town,” where he sings about maintaining a relationship at home while still being on the road -- and he plans on promoting this record the old-fashioned way: by hitting the highway.
Rachel Brown & The Beatnik Playboys
Rachel Brown & The Beatnik Playboys
Rachel & the Beatnik Playboys are four professional musicians with long histories playing American roots music—country, blues, rock, jazz, and swing. Their goal is to embrace all of their musical influences and combine them into a sound that seeks to find what the best of these styles have in common. It's their belief that the music and the lyrics must music work together and not compete against each other. Sometimes, less IS MORE and it takes the restraint of great and experienced musicians to be able to do that. However, when appropriate, Rachel & The Beatnik Playboys can bring incredible musical intensity to their performance.
Rachel Brown released a highly acclaimed CD of all original music called "Just Look My Way" in 2013, which all the members of The Beatnik Playboys played on. The band plans to release a follow up release in the summer of 2014.
