Marty Stuart and The Superlatives
Marty Stuart and The Superlatives
Marty Stuart got the country music bug early, and to this day he remains one the genre's most admired and accomplished new traditionalists. He started playing guitar and mandolin when he was 12 years old, and in relatively short order he was backing up bluegrass master Lester Flatt and later Johnny Cash. The Grammy Award-winner had chart-topping country hits in the 1990s, served as president of the Country Music Association, released a book of photographs, played for four presidents, hosted a TV show, and maintains an extensive collection of country music memorabilia. His most recent release is 2017's Way Out West, produced by Mike Campbell - best known as the guitarist in Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers.
