Tommy Castro And The Painkillers
Tommy Castro And The Painkillers
Blues great Tommy Castro and his band the Painkillers will perform at the Kent Stage on Monday, Oct. 9. Castro began playing guitar at the age of 10, started playing professionally in the 1970s, and has been fronting his own bands since the early 1990s.
Castro joined the renowned blues label Alligator Records in 2009, releasing Hard Believer to massive acclaim. He has won six career Blues Music Awards including the coveted B.B. King Entertainer Of The Year Award - the highest honor a blues performer can receive. Castro formed The Painkillers in 2012, creating a lean, mean four-piece lineup, capable of delivering soul-shaking, muscular music. Castro’s new Alligator album Stompin’ Ground drops on Sept. 29.
Reserved tickets for Tommy Castro & the Painkillers are $25 in advance, $30 at the door.
