Fire in The Heartland Film & Half Cleveland
This is a unique double event featuring a documentary film and a live musical performance.

Commemorating the 45th anniversary of the shootings at Kent State University, Half Cleveland will be performing from Chris Butler’s stirring “Easy Life” cd in conjunction with the debut of the FINAL CUT of the documentary film, “Fire in the Heartland” -all about the days and events leading up to, and following the death of 4 students on the KSU campus, May 4th, 1970.

This BENEFITS the Fire in the Heartland Project, so please join us!

Admission for both the film and the concert is only $10

If you are a student, you can tickets for only $5 but you must show your ID at the Door or when you purchase them at the Box Office Bodega.

HALF CLEVELAND is the 21st Century musical coupling of Tin Huey bandmates and writing partners Chris Butler (The Waitresses, Tin Huey, Roy Loney, Richard Lloyd) and Harvey Gold (Tin Huey, Ralph Carney, Sally Spring, Harvey in the Hall).

Chris and Harvey’s current line-up is a 5 piece – rounded out by Tin Huey’s Bob Ethington on drums, The May Company’s Friday Mike Wilkinson on bass, and MINTS’ Taylor McIntosh on sax - covering material they’ve written, performed and recorded with Tin Huey, the Waitresses, and solo, along with the eclectic list of occasional covers, i.e. “Songs we definitely would have written if someone else hadn’t gotten to it first.”

Currently, they are gigging in support of the recently released semi-plugged Half Cleveland “Live at the Wi-Fi Café” ( and Chris’s critically acclaimed “Easy Life,” a musical portrait of his time as a student at Kent State, before and then after the May 4th, 1970 riots.

Half Cleveland has shared the stage with Chrissie Hynde, Robin Hitchcock, David Lindley, Spotiswood and His Enemies, and recently headlined a sold out show at The Club at the Akron Civic Theater.
